Cutler of George Washington University, and RSL historian Mr. Col Benson.  Topic:  The tragic wartime accident where 40 members of the U.S. Army Air Corps perished at Bakers Creek, near Mackay, Australia, on June 14, 1943, and the efforts to identify those members and seek official recognition of the accident. Ross retired in 1995 after 24 years service as an Infantry Officer.  He had postings to all corners of Australia, spending 4 years in the North West, as well as Papua New Guinea and participated in deployments to Hawaii, Indonesia and Malaysia. Ross met his wife on a deployment to the Multinational Force and Observers on the Israel/Egypt border and has spent the last 20 years in the US. Near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial* Constitution Avenue and Henry Bacon Dr. NW Washington, DC The simple, solemn, ceremony is being kept deliberately short, at about 15 minutes, to allow attendees more time to pay their respects at the Wall afterwards.   *East of the Wall between 21 st and 20 th streets.
