Guest Speakers: Retired Professor Robert S. Cutler of George Washington University, and RSL historian Mr. Col Benson.
Topic:
The tragic wartime accident where 40 members of the U.S. Army Air Corps
perished at Bakers Creek, near Mackay, Australia, on June 14, 1943, and
the efforts to identify those members and seek official recognition of
the accident.
The
sub-branch will also host representatives of the US Army and Royal
Australian Air Force. After the talk the US Army will return to the
RAAF an Australian flag used during ceremonies held at the Bakers Creek
Air Crash Memorial, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Fort Myer, VA
Charge - $15.00, including buffet lunch and sodas. Alcoholic beverages- $2.00 each.

Parking:
While there is no parking at the Embassy, paid off street parking is
available behind and under the Airline Pilots Association- 17th and
Mass, and, at 15th and Mass (1240 15th street). On street two hour
metered parking is also available.
